Charts :)
Charts are pictorial representation of large amounts of data. Representing data in terms of charts makes it interesting and easy for the users to see comparisons and trends in data. MS Excel provides us with one feature creating charts, which help us to represent data in a graphical format. If we want to compare the runs scored by players in 1st inning and 2nd inning, this comparison can be made easily if the data are available in the form of charts.
Classification of chart
The charts in excel can be classified as
Embedded Chart
Chart Sheet
Embedded Chart
An Embedded Chart is placed on a worksheet rather than on a separate sheet. Embedded Chart is used when we want to display or print one or more charts with worksheet data.
Chart Sheet
A chart sheet is a part of a worksheet that contains only a chart. Chart sheet chart is used when we want to view or edit large or complex charts separately from the worksheet data or when we want to preserve screen space to work on the worksheet.
Basic Components of Chart
The basic components of charts remain the same whether it is column chart or any other type of chart. The basic components of chart are:
Chart Title :- The chart title helps the user to know the purpose of a chart.
Legend :- The key that describes each part shown in the chart.
Y Axis:- The line which shows values against the data of the X Axis.
X Axis :- The line which shows data that has values plotted against it.
Data :- It is the most important components of chart. Data refers to the information for which the chart is prepared. There should be at least two sets of data, one for X-Axis and the other for Y-Axis to create a chart.
